SQL Jeopardy

Chad Crawford, Distinguished Database Engineer Henry Schein One

This is our annual Holiday party, we'll have treats and goodies and a good 'ol fun time! Jeopardy (SQL Style) How well do you know SQL Server? Do you have a good grasp of the breadth of the capabilities SQL Server offers? Do you have the depth you need in each area to be successful? If you answered “no”, come and find out where you need to focus so you can “level up” as a database professional. If you answered “yes”, then come pick up the gauntlet and see how you compare with your peers. The questions test and educate by covering a broad range of features, focusing on common mistakes and frequently overlooked industry standards. The presentation medium is a quiz-show style format ("What is the word that starts a CTE?"), leading into a discussion when we hit a topic that has greater interest (So what exactly is a CTE, when would you use it, and how does it impact performance?). Chad Crawford is an MCM and Principal Database Engineer with 18 years' experience in database architecture, development and administration. He has worked in the manufacturing, health care and consulting industries, primarily focusing on design, performance, and high-availability of customer facing SAAS systems. He loves teaching and sharing new ideas, and created a custom training course that helped dozens of coworkers prepare for certification exams. He speaks regularly for users groups and SQL Saturday, and leads the Utah County SQL Users Group. When he isn’t optimizing a query or analyzing performance tests, you will find him running, tweaking a ham radio, or looking for a new strategy board game. Those wishing to join remotely can do so here, but please come in person if you can (you can't buzz in remotely!):
